I pretty do know what am talking about, am a realistic painter since eons, but also a game graphic artist that made a living of it for years, But for that price tag, you could buy 2 XL or 3 L (Intuos Large) or whatever the quantiy of just A4 size…īigger size is more accuracy. Forget, imho, about Cintiqs (ex cintiq user) unless you go for the 21". For what is editing, you have Gimp, Photoshop, …Ībout wacoms… I think I already said, but… Buy the biggest size. And things can change in weeks…or days.īut… I have used Painter, Photoshop, Gimp, Corel Paint, Twisted Brush, Pixia, Open Canvas, etc, etc, etc, etc… MyPaint, after all these years of using softwares (Photoshop mostly at work) has surprised me, in a very good way.īut as said, is for painting, very valid for producing painting art. I tested this with latest of both several months ago. This could be already non valid, as I have not tried the very latests Gimps. I have tested this with a Wacom Intuos 4 Small (S), and a Cintiq 12". And some features related to the tracking, and quite many more settings, allowed me to adjust the stroke accuracy more than with any paiting software I have tried. But the last times I tried both, the wacom tablets worked better with MyPaint. I never think one software is better than another for ever, this is an organic thing that changes depending on how things evolve for each software.
